President Yayi Boni Of Benin Republic takes over as AU Chairman.

The President of Benin Republic, Dr. Thomas Yayi Boni (60), has been elected as the chairman of the African Union (AU) at the 18th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the Union, on January 29 2012.

He takes over the one –year post from the Equatorial Guinea’s President Teodoro Obang Nguema.
Dr. Thomas Yayi Boni became the president of Benin on 6 April 2006 and was reelected in 2011 for another four-year term.

Dr Thomas Boni Yayi, who has never mince words of his being of Yoruba origin, defeated Nigerian President, Goodluck Jonathan to become the AU Chairman.

I personally believe this is a worthy victory for a worthy son of Africa. And I congratulate him, exceedingly.

Linguistic studies have shown that people tend to lose their aboriginal language,names or other specific identifications once they are far from the nucleus center of origin.Blacks in America for instance.in Anthropology-old world monkeys and new world monkeys are veritable examples as well(genetic drift tru geographical distance).
